Because I have credits left: Dark Lullabies (Vol 1)

Dark Lullabies is a nine-track descent into obsession, survival, and the strange place where fear becomes desire. bunki. takes the listener on a genre-bending trip through dark soul, electro-funk, trip-hop, dance, and haunted lullaby soundscapes—each track reimagining a childhood song through the eyes of two predators circling each other in the dark until their stories twist into one.Creepy. Seductive. Uneasy in all the right ways.Out now.

artist statement

behind the sound

Dark Lullabies began as an experiment in sonic storytelling. Curious whether familiar, comforting melodies could be reshaped into new emotional forms, bunki. stretched, inverted, and reframed them—while still carrying the faint echoes of what they once were. But the experiment quickly expanded.Could each track tell an intimate story and still belong to a larger one?
Could a narrative unfold without lyrics—guided only by texture, mood, and motion?
Could six pieces live across different genres yet feel as though they emerged from the same imagined world? What started as a simple use of leftover credits—a passing idea meant not to waste a balance—became a deeper study in sound and storytelling. bunki. blended fragile music-box tones, worn textures, unexpected rhythms, and shifting palettes to create an album defined not by genre, but by the emotional current running through it.The result is a series of reimagined lullabies—each distinct, yet part of a single continuum that reveals its full shape when heard from beginning to end.Dark Lullabies is not an ending or a descent. It is the first chapter in a broader exploration—new volumes, new themes, new worlds built through sound.

Nothing strange at first.
Just a meeting.
A moment.
A detail she almost missed.
Something in him felt familiar.
Something else didn’t.
The story changes depending on who tells it.
In some versions, she leaves.
In others, he lets her.
What happens after
is a loop of almost-truths,
shifting roles,
and a recognition neither of them can name.
No ending stays the same.
Only the pull between them does.
Sleep, ó mo chroí...
